The Store

We carry the largest and widest variety of fresh cut flowers in the area. We also carry a large inventory of green and flowering plants.

Flowers: We strive to offer the freshest and widest variety of flowers that are available. If we don’t have the requested flower available, we will always try to get it for you. We have deliveries from our suppliers coming in on a daily basis.

Plants: We have a full time employee that maintains all of our plants. She has extensive knowledge of plants and gardening. We offer seasonal outdoor plants to our area.

Our History

We are a 4th generation flower shop located in Saratoga Springs. Schrade’s Flowers was opened by my Great Grandfather, Henry J. Schrade in 1910. My Grandfather William T. Schrade then became involved in the business while also running a greenhouse operation on Nelson Ave. My Father John H. Schade was involved in a greenhouse and landscaping business that began in the 1960’s. In 1974 he decided to open The Posie Peddler on Broadway. This is when I became involved in the flower shop. In 1986 I purchased Schrade’s flowers from my Grandparents and ran both stores for many years. In 1996 I decided to merge the two companies together into one location on Broadway.

In 2004 we moved our business to a larger location on Congress St and stayed there for 6 years.
In 2010 we purchased property on West Ave. known as “The Little Red School House” and began renovations. We moved to our current and final location in the spring of 2011.
